Where are Molasses & Sidetrack?
If you’ve found yourself on this website and have had a look around, you may start to wonder where Molasses and Sidetrack are?
We’re currently not hiking, but hopefully that will change soon!
Life started to get in the way of hiking more and more in 2016 and 2017. This wasn’t a bad thing as Sidetrack had gotten busier at work due to a promotion, and he had also taken up the Highland Bagpipes!
I was learning guitar and had begun playing live Celtic and American Folk music in a pub here in CT.
We were hiking intermittently until December 2017 when Sidetrack broke his leg and crushed his foot under a tree! It’s been a long recovery for him. And although he’s doing pretty well now he still doesn’t have the stamina to do a lot of the hikes we were doing before, and now that I’ve been off the trail awhile, it’s going to be some work to get myself back up to the same condition I was in then too.
Just before the pandemic hit I started working as a bartender at the pub I was playing music in. Just my luck, I found a job I loved, then 3 months later…. Pandemic!! I’ve been laid-off ever since and have no idea when I’ll get to go back, just that I will go back, eventually.
I’m still playing music, in fact, Sidetrack and I both play together on the occasional Facebook Livestream.
We will be getting back to hiking and updating this page eventually, in the mean-time it sits here waiting for us to finish our blue-trail adventure. :)
Happy Trails!
