CT River to Bear Hill Road

Originally posted 9/06/2009 CT River to Bear Hill Road 5 Miles We did a 5 mile stretch of the Mattabesett trail on Sunday. Five miles is about the shortest hike we bother with, but I have to say, this stretch of the trail was rough terrain. It was as exhausting as some of the 7-8 mile hikes we’ve done. The terrain was hilly and rocky, so there was a lot of up and over rocky outcrops which gets tiring. Of course, I find this all more tiring than my husband, who is in very good shape. I am hoping to eventually get up to his level of fitness.
