On this hike we took the Orange trail to the left, took the silver trail around the pond, then picked up the yellow trail and followed it back around to where it connects again to the orange trail, we followed the orange trail again to the left, did an out and back on the blue trail, then continued on the orange back to where we started, basically following the outermost trails the whole way.
We spent quite a lot of time in this area taking pictures. I was determined to catch a shot of a huge distant spiderweb, but my camera just couldn't do it in the dim light.
The pine forest ends as you approach the pond and turns into your standard woodland area.
The pond was small, but nice, and the stream offered up some nice spots to stop and both enjoy the sound of the running water, and take a few pictures.
No, we didn't take a picture of the scat, so, to your left you'll find a picture of a shelf mushroom instead. :)
This was obviously a popular place to go for a walk too. While there was only one car leaving when we arrived, one person passed us taking pictures on the trail and when we left there were 5 cars in the lot and a large group of people not far behind us.
