Hartland, CT - Tunxis State Forest

I would definitely advise caution, particularly if you're not in good shape, but I don't know many children who wouldn't have gotten down that scramble faster than I did. This is assuming the kids are at an age where they walk well and know to be careful.
After visiting the falls the loop continues with one water crossing that requires caution in winter, or when the water is high. The total hike is 1.7 miles.
I was surprised that we didn't see anyone else on the trail. It was hot and humid, but that usually doesn't matter too much, we still usually run into other hikers.
The falls are definitely worth a visit
The next entry will be about Turkey Vulture Ledges.
