0.4 miles
Anyway, after we checked out the camping area we noticed this short little .4 mile trail off all by itself and decided "Hey, since we're out here, let's hike a short trail, get it out of the way."
The Turkey Vulture Ledge Trail-head is 1.5 Miles down a pretty rough dirt road. We were kind of feeling sorry for our little Hyundai Accent by the time we got to the parking area. This would have been a good trail to bring the truck to.
We set out around noon hoping to see some Turkey Vultures from Turkey Vulture Ledges. :)
Aside from the view, the trail is nice, but fairly unremarkable.
I stopped to take a picture of the huge glacial erratic mentioned in the walk book. It is split in half because of the freezing and thawing of water in the crevices of the rock. The view isn't far from the glacial erratic.
